So start with some classifieds and write an article, see what sort of conversions you get. In my humble opinion you need tracking software to see which keywords people are finding you with and which ones convert. There is software to do this..

Once you have this information you can then build on it. Then open up a pay per click campaign and use those specific keywords in your ads, make them relevant. This way you build on your successes with very little money and time invested. Affiliate marketing could be considered a combination of art and technique, however just like anything else in sales it basically is a numbers game. Be resourceful and be patient.
